CTM was established in the year 1982 to conduct research and development, design, construction, technological and experimental works in order to prepare new production lines in the area of military maritime technology, improving methods of their manufacture, as well as conducting international cooperation in this regard.
CTM’s basic activity areas are:
- Underwater weapon systems,
- Command and control systems,
- Maritime infrastructure protection systems,
- Radio communication and data exchange systems,
- Product testing and certification.
Within the area of underwater weapon systems research, development and implementation works are performed in range of underwater surveillance and weapon systems. Within the underwater surveillance systems newest technologies based on electromagnetic and hydro acoustic transducers are used. Whereas in terms of underwater weapons the works include solutions in the field of non-contact trawls, magneto-acoustic or remotely initiated by a coded acoustic signal fuses intended for bottom and anchored mines, as well as multichannel fuses for non-contact mines.
Within the area of command and control systems research, development and implementation works are performed in range of improvement, implementation and development of new algorithms supporting command, control, mission planning, with emphasis on new directions of network-centric activities development, as well as effective use of weapons and equipment supplied to the military.
Within the area of maritime infrastructure protection systems research, development and implementation works are performed in range of development of systems and equipment for the security of harbours and critical infrastructure, concerning detection, identification and classification of surface and underwater threats, as well as methods of neutralizing and/or destroying them.
Within the area of radio communication and data exchange systems research, development and implementation works are performed in range of improvement, implementation and development of new algorithms for data transmission and automatic link establishment (ALE) within radio communication systems.
Activities carried out within Research Laboratories:
- Research related to implementation of research and development works,
- Product testing for the needs of national defence and security (OiB),
- Product testing for compliance with standards harmonized with MED 2011/75/UE, EMC 2004/108/WE and LVD 2006/95/WE directives.
Furthermore the Product Certification Body (JCW) holds permission for product certification in the fields of electromagnetic compatibility, electromagnetic fields and demagnetization, requirements for electrical equipment and environmental factors.
