The Association of Polish Maritime Industries FORUM OKRĘTOWE is an association operating on the basis of the Act of the Polish Parliament on Employers' Organizations (Dz.U. 1991 nr 55 poz. 235), registered under the REGON number 190266791.
It was established in 1993 as a result of the efforts of the shipbuilding industry to create an organizational framework for contacts between shipyards and marine equipment manufacturers, as well as other entities related to the shipbuilding industry. The initiator of the establishment of the FORUM OKRĘTOWEGO Employers' Association was the senior of the Polish shipbuilding industry, Professor Jerzy Wojciech Doerffer - the first President of the Association.
FORUM OKRĘTOWE is a member of SEA Europe (formerly CESA) - an organization that brings together shipyards and marine equipment manufacturers from European Union countries, the United Kingdom, Norway, Turkey, and Ukraine. SEA Europe is a lobbying organization representing the interests of the maritime industry before European Union administrative bodies. FORUM OKRĘTOWE is also a member of the Polish Confederation of Private Employers LEWIATAN.
The statutory objective of the FORUM OKRĘTOWE is to influence the creation of favorable conditions for the development of the Polish shipbuilding industry, to organize various forms of cooperation between members, as well as to protect their interests and represent them both in Poland and abroad.
The companies associated in FORUM OKRĘTOWE always represent a high level of professionalism and collectively possess enormous intellectual potential. FORUM OKRĘTOWE members include: production and repair shipyards, service providers, subcontractors, manufacturers of marine equipment, as well as other companies and institutions active in the shipbuilding industry such as: universities, research and development centers, design firms, classification societies, banks, and law firms.

Scope of activities:
The key issue currently being addressed by FORUM OKRĘTOWE is the creation of an industrial strategy for the shipbuilding industry and marine equipment manufacturers in the European Union and Poland, ensuring stable development of this industry.
